Drivetrain Loss On Dyno Question

My performance mods are as follows:

PES (Performance Engineering Systems) Stage-2 Software (1.0 bar sustained)
Billet Aluminum Blow Off Valves
Stage 4 Racing Clutch
Light Weight Fly Wheel
FabSpeed Exhaust System W/ 5’’ Dual Oval Tips
H&R Springs
Front & Rear Eibach Sway Bars
K&N Air Filter

I took the car to Enhanced Street Performance (http://www.enhancedstreetperformance.com) on Saturday for 3 dyno runs. I have to say, these guys are very nice, and a real pleasure to deal with.

My results are as follows:

Pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/monabaker/20091003DynoDay#

Video (Run#1): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnZ06kKAIB0
Video (Run#2): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAsjtVEVNZc )

Final Numbers:

431.1 AWD HP @ 6,479RPM & 122MPH

476.9 Ft. Lbs Torque @ 3,595RPM & 68.3MPH

Taking all of the above into account, I have a few questions...

#1) What does everyone think about these numbers?
#2) Does the fact it was pouring rain affect them much? If so, how?
#3) What is the drivetrain loss in %? (i.e. looking to know what I would be making at the crank)

I think those are good numbers for just a flash and exhaust on Mustang AWD. I made 400 AWHP and 480 Tq on Dynodynamics with just a flash and no exhaust. Dynodynamics usually reads lower than a Mustang AWD.

can you post your graph?

Nice numbers. My car when I got it was 448rwhp on a mustang dyno I believe with a EVOMS stage 2 and RWD.

good numbers

raining wont affect the dyno the temp with humidity might but if it was raining it was likely cooler ambient then if it wasnt raining so you should have made more power ideally

I think they are pretty good numbers. "On the road" numbers would be better and much more accepted here. Dyno numbers create a lot of controvery, so to add to it, my car made 425/500 on a Mustang with flash and exhaust. Also, a rainy day is 100% humidity, so numbers could have been better. The car will likely run much better on a clear, cool day...Good Luck.

My K24 car made 439 rwhp on a dyno dynamics and then made 523 rwhp on a dynojet with the only change being diverter valves which did make some, difference, but probably about 15 whp or so.

For that type of dyno, those numbers are very strong for a K16 car if that is what that is. Go run at the drag strip, you can do a soft launch, but shift well and see what it traps, there are some faster tracks in the NE so you'll have a good guage of where you should be. That will tell the story.

I've never tried dragging. Kinda scared I would break something. I feel like if I launch the car, it's really hard on the engine. Usually I ease into gear, before flooring it.

I think this is the way most people launch these cars, even the higher hp ones. I plan to find out firsthand soon.

it's easy. roll off and nail it. then try to shift as fast as possible and modulate rpm between shift so that it stays near 5k or so. As long as you dont accidentally downshift when you are trying to upshift, you will be ok.
