Just my observation, but most people here seem to be

commenting on the older exhaust. I believe you are looking for feedback on the X-Cellerator Cross Flow exhaust ? Mine should go on this week, along with K24/18g's, EVOMS headers, Injectors, Plugs, PSS9's, GT3 sway bars, and various other goodies.

I will followup next week with feedback on the exhaust

Yes, that is correct...the X-Cellerator cross flow. Sorry for not clarifying. Did you get one of his test dummies at a discount? That is why I called him (cheap me) but he had none left so I got one that is yet unpolished for a small discount.

It sounds like you have some great upgrads coming Bear, let us know how you like 'em. I am really interested in your exhaust (60 or 70 mm?), plus, post a comment on the )PSS9s too...I am curious since the spring (no pun intended!) will include suspension upgrades for me.

I just installed the 70mm seperate cans (not the crossflow) and headers. I went with this instead of the crossflow because of the 200 cell cats I hope will pass Calif emission testing and didn't want to risk any CEL's So far its been great. Easy install, nice fit and finish and a very good price compared to all other systems. I think you'll be pleased with the crossflow and John is great with customer support.

ABCar,

First of all, thanks so much for the order today - I appreciate it! As for the sound differences, most of the replies on this thread are from owners of our original twin cannister design exhaust, which is available in both 60mm (actually 63.5mm) and 70mm. That said, with your decision to go with our 2.5 X-cellerator cross-flow, IMO, you have purchased the finest exhaust that we have ever sold. Our quality on all systems has always been very high, but the new cross-flow exhaust has several important features that the twin cannister systems do not offer. First of all, the X-flow has 100 cell cats, which enable rapid turbo spool. You can feel the enhanced throttle response and quick spool over a 200 cell cat, so this is a big plus. Secondly, the X-cellerator cross-flow is packed with stainless steel wool vs. fiberglass and will take all the abuse you can throw at it, without breaking down. Thirdly, the cross-flow design creates an exotic type sound, similar to the Porsche GT3 and in short, just sounds great! We offer two crossflow models. The X-cellerator 3.0, which is a full 3" cross-flow system has some drone and is loud. I feel it's a system for a purpose built car looking for maximum performance at the expense of comfort, just like race suspensions, etc. For those that want ultimate performance, it's a superb, race car like sounding system. For those that want to be able to listen to the stereo and enjoy it, use a cell phone or converse with a passenger at ease, the 2.5 is the perfect choice. It allows all of the preceeding in complete comfort, yet, when you get on the throttle, it still emits a really nice, fairly aggressive, GT3 type sound - not as loud as the 3.0, but close. It offers the best of all worlds - performance, quick spool, great sound and virtually no drone. I use my car as a daily driver and I make a lot of business calls from the car. I have used both the 3.0 and the 2.5 on my car and I have choosen the 2.5 to live with. I absolutely love it for it's versatility and sporty sound.

Additionally, the cross-flow systems have optional components available, which enable the user to configure it in a number of performance and sound options. If you want loud or less weight for a track day or rally, you can fit the optional muffler bypass pipes in about 10 minutes and totally change the character of the car. Even dropping the muffler for weight savings is only another 5 minutes. It does cost a little more than the twin cannister systems, but it also offers more to the end user. I think you made a great choice going with the 2.5 - it's my favorite and I feel very comfortable recommending it.

Hi Duane,

Thanks to you, too. I'm glad to hear it went on well and that you're enjoying it. The 70mm is a really nice exhaust, as well.

I have 2.5 x flow and it is spot on for DD. I opted for this as it only takes 30mins to swap to straight thru's. I can still hear the whistle from the turbo's on 2.5 DD setup as I call it.

Check out the Fabspeed system also. It sounds great and really opens the car up without being too aggressive and there is no drone. Check out the video below.

I recently installed the 2.5 xflow on my DD. Sounds great, nice spool up, no CELs on the 100 cell cats; definitely louder but the wife hasn't noticed

What about with 100 cell cats? Will it pass smog do you think?

I hope my wife notices...just not to the point where she hits me or checks my Visa bill!

The drone I experienced in mine was square in the middle of the 2000-3000 RPM range. Couldn't get away from it as it became an issue...

There was ZERO drone for the first 6 months of ownership, and then it just started, and kept going like a nagging wife... Until I divorced it!

Which exhaust? X or standard, 60 or 70mm? divorce is never fun...
