996tt exhaust removal
Hi Guys.
I need help in removing my exhaust. How do I go about it without destroying my oxygen sensor? I heard that some people or dealers damage the O2 sensors on the process of exhaust removal. Is that right? If it does,I would appreciate if you can share your experience on the proper sequence of exhaust removal without damaging the O2 sensors.
Thanks, AL

You want to unscrew them *before* you drop the exhaust. That is pretty much all that you need to do.
Make sure you put lots of antisieze on them when you put them back, and reverse twist the wires about 5 turns before starting the threads.

More difficult without bumper removal. Bumper is a 20 min job, get it out the way. I would follow the wires up and unplug then drop (the way I did it). No risk this way, otherwise risk breaking wires at O2 sensors.
Thanks again everyone. Your input helped. I already unplug the O2 sensor and will be dropping the exhaust..AL

Also, be careful when you apply the anti-sieze for reinstall. Just a dab will do and make sure it is ONLY on the threads. If you get any anti-seize on the O2 sensor head, it will foul it and you'll have to replace.
