I had bearings spin after 3000 miles on the MTI build. My first twin disk clutch was defective(manufacturer took it back and refunded cost) that shredded tranny sycros. At 13k miles lost second tranny (RPM Stage 5)at TX Mile - we just had to replace shifter, rods and linkage to the tranny because they were shredded. We think this contributed to the tranny failures. I have seen my share of failed parts on the Z06 and I still keep coming back for more - I think it is a great track car.
I'm sure I'll absolutely love the GT2 but it is going to be a street car that will see the track only a couple of times.
Never drove a 930 but have heard stories. Learning not to lift mid corner is hard for some. I have been sideways at over 100 mph and stayed in the gas to save my *** in the Z06. I will have to get some serious seat time in the GT2 to give a good comparison.

Thanks - more pics coming soon
Luis -
Thanks for the kind words. I'm sure I'll have questions for you.
You have the only guards red GT2 that I have seen in person - it is stunning. You and the car influenced me to pursue this awesome car.
I'll add you to the list of drivers who have volunteered.
Not sure about changing avatar - I seem to be known as AtomicZ both good and bad.

HUGE CONGRATS and welcome to the club.. Not what I call a daily street car lol, but more power to you if you can get around in it on a daily basis
Glad someone picked that car up after it being on the market for so long, it's a gem!

Thanks. It will be more streetable than my modded Z06 - so I guess it is all relative.

Any other plans for it off the bat? Or just get it and ENJOY THE HELL OUT OF IT!
Hey Eric,
Congratulations on getting the car. I'm truly happy for you...and that its in the hands of someone who will truly use it for what it was built to do. Todd and I had fun building it back in 2006 when 700whp and 3076's were unheard of in stock block 996's! As I mentioend to you, I would still own it today if I didn't get an offer I couldn't refuse.
Let me know if you need any help this week....I'm around and can swing over to Tym's Wed/Thurs.
Personally, I think you need to keep it at Tym's and let him upgrade the hw and sw over the winter to get it to 800+whp. Then you and Scott would have the lowest mileage, nicest condition, fastest GT2's available (well yours MIGHT be a bit faster).

I want to publicly thank you for the help you have provided in getting this deal done.
I think I am going to drive the car for awhile and then decide if it needs to have any upgrades. Scotts car is going to be very fast as is this car. I'm sure at some point I'll get the itch to make it faster.

The car is supposed to be up at Tym's in the next day or two and I am trying to clear my schedule to get out there Thursday night. Not sure if it will happen or not.
Eric
