Easy Care Platinum EXT Warranty

Easy Care Platinum EXT WRRTY
For anyone looking for an ext wrty for their car, I would highly recommend the above one by Fidelity. I bought my CTT 05 last Aug 08 and paid 4k for the 3yr/36k mile plan.
My local shop in SA, Porsche Center said it is the only co they will take bc others have failed to pay so even though I bought the car elsewhere, I bought wrty from them. It has a $100 deduct.
In the first 12 mos, I had around 4k work done to the car so by that time it had pretty much paid for itself with the remaining 2 years left and 25k miles as gravy.
Noticed a small leak under car and turns out it was tranny fluid. Dealer said it would most likely be needing a new seal which would run around 2k for parts/labor. I have a good relationship with dealer and svc mgr and hence they said they would try to push for a new tranny since it had 71k miles.
That is exactly what I ended up with. New tranny with new software which would have cost some $6,400 for parts/labor. So the original wrty has now paid itself plus one and some extra change. I still have about 22 months left and 25k miles to go so naturally with all the new parts the car has on it, I will keep it until the wrty runs out and perhaps even longer.
New tranny shifts much better and keeps rpms where you need them prior to upshifting like the old one did. I think I will need to look into if the Rover dealer uses this wrty for when my Sport SC gets close to going out of wrty as I plan to keep that one for some time as well.
As much as I blow on mods for my cars which provide me with enjoyment but never provide me with any money back when I sell the cars, its nice to invest in something that pays you back
.

PS-When I bought the car it had 60k miles and I paid 38k for it. Due to the high miles, I felt it a good idea to get the wrty.
I guess this could be interpretid that these cars can become money pits once they get into the higher miles range, but the svc mgr says he has only seen 2 or 3 that needed all that mine did at that mileage.
My outlook is "who cares" as long as you have a good wrty. The car is an absolute dream to drive and I used to think my 07 Sport SC was a better suv to drive until I had some seat time in the CTT.
I know it is not the right forum but I also know at least one 996tt owner who has a CTT. Also thought this info might benifit anyone who has a 996tt that has little to no mods.

I have that warranty, same $100 deduc, it was good for seven years from inception! and up to 60K miles. Paid $1800 in 06. My 02 is covered till 2013!!! So far they have paid for 3 minor but common TT issues without question less $100 deduct.
Your probably right which is why I mentioned it. I have bought to 911's from them in the past and repped my Svc mgr and his wife in buying a home this year.
Bought the warranty from the Finance guy and he said it would be like a "new car" warranty pretty much all cvd except wear/tear items which it has.

Since the dealer is dealing with your aftermarket warranty (and not Porsche) they seem to be a bit more liberal on letting mods slide on by. I have the same warranty and have some minor items fixed (including replacing a key that got tossed in the pool). I do not believe the warrany covers the sound system or nav system.

I got the Platinum Plan and one of the first things needing replacement was the unit under pass seat that takes the nav dvd. They took care of it. Perhaps the non Platimum plan excludes ss or nav syst?
PeterK, do it. Joey will take care of you. Shoot me a pm and let me know what your driving? I also can help if you are looking for pwr mods in future, point you in the right direction.
Here's the website for Fidelity: http://www.fidelitywarrantyservices.com/
Most Porsche dealerships sell Fidelity, which I also bought from my dealer.
My Fidelity Platinum warranty paid for itself 4 times over in the first year of ownership.

I have an Easy Care warranty on my car except it's the Gold plan not the Platinum. Not sure what the difference is, but it's nice to know that they are a stand-up warranty service when called upon.
