My first time ever at SP was in 1986 and Bill Scott himself was out there walking the grid, talking to many of us and asking about our goals and driving aspirations. About 3 years ago, he rolled up in a golf cart while I was unloading my car. He was certainly older, and so was I, and he didn't remember me. But I recognized him immediately. He was the same guy who wanted to talk about cars and driving the track.

Although I have been critical of the conditions at SP in the last few years, and have "wished" it were more like VIR, I know that SP was Bill Scott's dream, and in living his dream, he made it much more likely that many of us could chase ours as well...

GodSpeed Bill Scott!

that is sad - I used to rent shop space from BSR back when his shop was on Spring Hill Rd.
