Solid advice in this thread.

I think in terms of 'invasiveness' of the mod. For me there are 3 steps:

1. Peripherals- no change to turbos

2a. Turbos
2b Turbos plus (plus fuel, plus MAFs, plus injectors, plus etc)

3. Anything that needs new internals

There can be a lot of discussion as to where to draw the line between 2b and 3- ie is 600 safe, is 700 safe, how safe, etc. Lets assume you are not there.

Then the question becomes two fold:

Am I going to be happy with staying in 1.If yes, great...if no,

Where will I want to end up in within 2a? Choose your mods within 1 so that when you go into 2a your initial mods are not wasted.

I'm being overly analytical and formulaic... here's my advice. Buy a great exhaust. Something that can handle an upgraded turbo in the future. Choose a tuner for a flash who has a PROVEN ability to tune and deliver an upgraded turbo. Buy his basic flash now, with an eye towards an upgrade in the future. Change your DVs.

Tweak your suspension.

Enjoy.

Then, once you get hooked you can take the final step in a single shot- and you've wasted nothing.

Great stuff Thanks! I am looking at the exhaust brands on this site and reading opinions as well as talking to other Porsche owners and what they have. In regards to the brakes, I was only going to upgrade the pads to black and the lines to steel braided. The factory brakes seems soft to me.
The suspension is now a lot more intriguing and I will be reading more about it.
ard, thanks for the opinion w/ long term upgrades in mind. Right now I think I'll stay w/ stock turbo's and change the wastegates, exhaust ( w/out the headers), and ECU.
Thanks for all the opinions.

You might want to look in the "For Sale" section for a slightly used muffler at a substantial saving from buying brand new. They come up often.
