Very nice looking car and certainly very low miles. Black on black is my favorite. Also, the supple leather is very nice as well. Personally I'm not a big fan of the wood pieces, but it looks like it's only on the steering wheel, shift **** and brake handle. Also whether you like the wood is, A. a personal choice and B. could be changed out very easily if you don't like it. Heck, I could even probably learn to live with them if need be
If this is "the one" I'd definitely tell them that you'll get a PPI done on your own dime at a shop of your choice and not pay for "Their PPI". If they don't budge, like I said, give it 2 weeks and they'll probably give in. Since it's a Mitsi dealer, they're not quite used to dealing with higher end cars the way a Porsche dealer does. I mean seriously, few people probably go on to their used car lot and ask to get an independent PPI on a used Honda Accord. As for the price, for an '02 of that low mileage it's priced about right. call them in the morning and ask them to fax over a Carfax to you. Obviously they don't tell you everything, but you'll be able to find out where it's from and maybe where it was serviced in which case you could call the dealer it was bought/serviced from and see if they have anything they can tell you about the car.

My guess is that this is the owners car..or a principal of the dealership.
It is completely out of character to all the other cars they have. I think the other 90 cars are all under $10,000!!!
Keep in mind that if this is true, they can make the 'dealership records' conform to anything he wants to support the 'story'...
As with any dealer, just assume everything they say is a lie- and proceed from there.
I haven't looked at the carfax- does it show a person owning it just prior to the dealership? Pay attention to big gaps where it is held by a reseller...just someone with a resale license avoiding taxes and joyriding for a few months...

all the best deals are out there. in california you're looking at ~$3000 extra. i've been very adamant about them checking for rust. aside from the price, what do you guys think about:

By the time you SEE the rust it is way too late.
Corrosion begins in the seams and under body panels, behind fittings, within screw threads, etc, and cannot be inspected.
I agree CA cars are more- but there are plenty of non-snow states... although these cars move around A LOT, and with history getting murky with older cars it is hard to know. The $3k you spend for a one owner car with a confirmed history is often times a real benefit and that is why the market supports that price differential...

There's so many cars in CA, I'd look around in state. For the amounts of the two cars you posted, you should be able to find something similar local and not have to worry about shipping it or driving it back.
So they are advertising the car for $50k and tell you they want $1k extra?
That must against one or more laws.
I would never buy a Porsche from a Japanaese car dealer. But, I would also never buy a car from that part of the country - made that mistake.
Rust is not really the problem. Corrosion is. California gets hardly any rain. There is no corrosion. We had three days of rain in November and everybody cried.

I think there are better deals. That front bumper looks a little rough. It's an average deal in my opinion. I'd rather buy a slightly higher mile car with more options for that money.
