Thumbs up GIAC K24 X50 Flash Complete! OMG!!

Went into Lucent and met with the So. Cal. Giac Rep. Jeff. He "uploaded" the GIAC X50 program into my TT-Cab and OMG!

Car before the software upgrade was pushing a sustained maximum of 0.8 bars of boost. After upgrade pushes a sustained 1.2 bars of boost with spikes of 1.3 to 1.4.

The car pulls like crazy from 2K rpm all the way to the raised rev limiter of 6800~6900.

Simply amazing especially after you hit 100mph the car just keeps going and going and going.

The best part about this program is that it took literally 15 minutes without having to take anything apart!

If anyone is interested give Arling a call and he can give you the details and pricing. Jeff might even allow you to do the try it deal where he'll load up the program let you try it over the weekend and if you like it you buy it, if you don't he'll put you back to stock! "Jay" what are you waiting for???

the guage doesn't move as fast, but I have found that the gas consumption (not that I care even a little) has dropped significantly - the power comes at a cost. And with 91 oct at $2.60/gal it is not tiny.

enjoy the car - nothing like it

Hi Rob,

Really glad you like the software! GIAC and the rest of the dealer network tries very hard to make the most out of the given ingredients!

If you or anyone has any questions question please contact myself or Arling at Lucent.

wow 1.2 bar that rocks.. only thing im worried about is the spiking... the car shouldn't spike to 1.3-1.4 bar.... just curious.. can anyone explain it to me ...
spikes are uncool for me.. u run a risk of detonating/running lean especially if the reprogrammed. spark and fuel mixture is set for a 1.2 bar chip upgrade...

any answers guys just curious..

LOL, great idea. I bet they have never been asked to put one back! It probably gets rid of the turbo's nasty lag too.

There is no risk of running lean. Adaptive learning ECU's were created to avoid such risks. Even on a factory spec car seeing 0.8, you can sometimes even see 0.9 for a fraction of a second. MAF's, and the ECU will retard the engine accordingly if there is too much air vs fuel in the mixture.

The reason the boost does spike for a moment has to do with trying to get the turbos spooling faster. GIAC does this on all of its programs. It is not a problem.

Here at Colorado gas is way cheaper...... I just put 93.5 oct at Petro Stop for $1.95/gal, and most gas station 91 oct are $2/gal

I put in half a tank of 100 octane last night and OMG. It actually goes faster!!!

There is a race gas program that should push the car to close to 500rwhp! Can't wait for the handheld flash loader!

Jay are you joining us this weekend for the Toys for Tots run? I'll be there so we can do the side by side trials. I doubt you'll be by my side for very long!!

Try a full tank of 100 or vp 103 and the race gas file. You will be blown away!!
