wastegate adjustment
What setup are you running? The computer controls boost. Over tightening the wastegates or adding a boost controller may increase boost, but will take away safeguards the computer has built in in case you get detonation.
The correct way to do this is to get a flash.
K24 cars running more than 1.1 bar will benefit from stronger wastegate springs since the factory units simply can not be tightened enough.

Your tune/flash dictates how much boost you get. You're wastegates just allows you to get there. You can crank your boost by adjusting your wastegates, but you may over-boost and not have enough fuel, or have too much timing for it, potentially causing premature engine failure. Highly recommend against adjusting your wastegates, unless your tuner says go for it.
Reputable tuner has done this for me on two turbo cars already, one of which I tracked the heck out of. Stock k-16's with a flash and by tightening the wastegate screws yielded another 0.1 bar boost. I was hitting 1.3 bar on 101 octane at the track in +100 degree summer weather. As a side note, I always changed oil before and after track events.

i know that the tune controls the boost.my GT2 is already tuned by FVD,(exhaust cat bypass+sport air filter)always i can hit the 1bar but why i see very rare 1.2.Do you think if i install the upgraded wastegates,i can hit the 1.2bar and the car will be faster.
Thank you.

(don`t overtight the wastgates..the wastgates should be able to controlled from ecu)
My tuner recommended 1 bar wastegate actuaters and new DVs, the wastegate actuators are set to 12-13 psi. I get 1.3 bar pretty much regularly. When I was set to 10 psi I was only running 1.1bar max. I have a 1.3 bar tune.
You mean that after reflash you were not able to hit the 1.2bar only after adjusting the wastegates.
if you go with upgraded wastgates, first you will see how much boost your tuner has programmed....if it is not enough for you, it must retuned for the upgraded wastgates..With up wastgates your k24 is like a k16/24 if you are able to go in higher shaftspeeds .

I know this is a novice question but...
I'm picking up my new to me 01 TT next week which has a Stage I FVD flash. Would this require any changes to the stock K16/wastegates? What would you expect to see as max boost? What are the values for the stock wastegates?
Thanks.

try the upgraded wastgates and adjust it like the members say to 12psi...after that you will see what boost the ecu regulate...it is a advantage to go with upgr wastgates with k24
if its not enough ...you can retune from fvd to 1,2...a 5bar fuel fuelpressure over 1,2bar is good too (but 1,2bar should be enough for a oem k24)
