There is a limit to what one will pay for a Chevy .

Just doesn't get the respect it deserves on the road, and if you are under 40 and driving one the perception is that you are either a mobster or a rich hick. If you are over 40, it's perfect in terms of a sports car 'value'. That should easily smoke the Turbo S and likely even the 997TT when it comes out, if not for the n/a engine but for the light weight. Wish that performance and price came in a better package is all I'm saying.
I think if GM created a separate entity for theCorvette it would help the image, but until then, it's on the same lot as the Cobalt and Geo Metro.

That's funny, esp. compared to the general stereotype of pcar owners. I do agree, it doesn't get enough respect, but what do you expect when their are 30K plus made each year.

the old z06 was a very well balanced car, I don't see why this one won't be better

Why don't they just have a separate division for the Corvette as it's so far beyond anything else they sell?

Probably because they have no trouble selling them as-is. The Corvette has been around for half a century, if it ain't broke...

The Chevy people will never let that happen , for "halo car" reasons - like the way they are trying to sell the Chevy Cobalt with the TV ads where it keeps bumping it's " big brother " at the stop light before the C6 lays rubber and does an angry 180.

Yeah, low to the ground, 90-inch wide rear tires, lightweight body - that sucker really does perform. If it didn't have the Chevy part and they would make less of them I think it would be considered world class not only in performance but image also.

no need to, they have no problem selling 30K+ of them as it is. Smart people wouldn't look at it as being a problem, but actually as being a steal cause if they started making them under another name they'd probably jack up the price.
The C5 was a rock solid car, never heard many complaints or problems about it. don't see it being any less reliable then say a TT. Sure you can complain about the cheap bits in the interior etc, but it's a 50K car w/ the performance of those 3x's it's cost. How much can you ask for.
If you think it's a *****in performing car but can't get into it cause it's a "chevy" you've got other issues
:PIt's like all the people that wouldn't buy an S2K cause it's a honda and not an acura (I know more then a few people who actually didn't look at it because of this). Their ignorance, their loss.

No thanks.
I don't like the way it looks in general, and the "big butt" is still there specifically. It's too big for my tastes, and it still looks like the "sitting in a tub" driving position and bad sight lines still exist.
You have to like looking at it, and you have to like driving it.

Just like the regular C6 does 4.2, right!! Every mag has tested the standard C6 in the 4.6-4.7 range although GM "CLAIMS" 4.2
