Thats a sweet looking color combo on the new GSXR, might change my mind about which bike I'd like to pick up in a year or two. Which bike did u learn to ride on? Piloting the new bike will sure take the speed thrill away from driving ur Turbo haha, stay safe. happy hanukah btw man

Congrats Evan, welcome to the world of two wheels. I would have pegged most people on this board to be Ducati bike owners. That is a great bike, but I have a feeling you will want more power pretty soon, like the older brother, the 1000.
If it is your first bike, be careful, remember, you're wrapping your skin around the machine, not like in a car.
Here is something that will save your left hand down the road in traffic or the canyons. I do not take responsibility if you get hurt trying this. To make up-shift easier, you can do so without the clutch.
Go down the road in any gear, get the RPM around 6000 or above. Roll off the throttle for a split second, moving the throttle back about 1/4 of an inch, simultaneously up-shift. If you roll of too much, it will feel jerky. Do it really quick while up-shifting.
It will feel really uncomfortable and jerky at first (which leads most people to think it is bad for the bike), but when you get it down, you'll be able to shift faster than using the clutch, and save the clutch. I did not come up with this on my own, it is how amateurs who can't afford clutchless shift kits (or pros riding normal bike) do. This only works for up-shift.
Have fun on your bike, good luck avoiding the speeding tickets.

Enjoy! I use an 04 GSXR 600 as my track bike, Love it to death, one of the most responsive bikes out. Have fun!
When you are ready for a Exhaust, I have a Tiforce full system with 1 race on it, sitting on a shelf.

I rode from the mid '60s till 2002 when I went down at 60mph
in rush hour traffic (i was cut off and lost the front). Now I
walk around with enough metal in my shoulder and knee to
set off museum metal detectors... Be careful.
