Drag calculator

http://www.richmondgear.com/112901.html

might be worth using to compare real world results and actual dyno numbers to 1/4mi times.

And compare to the dyno/shootout results.

There are many others..

Have fun

Marc

How much does a 996TT weigh with driver and full tank of gas?

Actual numbers?

And what is the lightest anyone has lowered the weight to?

Thanks,
Marc

The 01s are lighter to start with by some 60 pounds but they are still 3480 for a 6 speed and 3560 for a tip. That's without the driver!!! They are stupid heavy.. Mine's about 3230 right now. Then throw me in 179 pounds and....

The biggest draw back with these vs the 993s is the silly weight

I weighed mine at the moving company. It weighed 3560 full of gas without me.

What's the 60 lb. savings from? I've read that a structural bar was added near the fire wall... anything else?

My '01 6spd has a 3395lb curb weight. With oil and about 1/4-1/2 tank of gas, my car weighed about 3440lbs w/o me in it.

By the way, the trap speed is basically correct on the above calculator, but the E/T is WAY off.

Do ypu use WHP or crank hp? I got the closest trap speed with crank hp but the ETs are dreaming either way.

I used crank (fly-wheel HP) for mine. I guess that my exhaust gave me 20fwhp (I might be dreaming). Either way, I got 115.7mph as my trap speed. In real life, I was getting 115.5-116.25mph on my traps. So, just like you, the trap speed is dead-on. However, it predicted a 11.39s E/T. In real life, I was getting a 12.29 with a 1.79s 60ft time!

It apperas that the calculator is accurate for trap speed, but off for ET? Had the Shootout results come out yet? It would be interesting to see if ther is a consistant relationship between wheel hp, trap speed and et that can be predictive.

That would be useful.

My understanding is that a 996 is lighter than a 993...at least with the 2wd versions...

We have a street/daily driver 993TT DEVEK GT2 conversion to 2wd that weighs 2800 without driver.

What is lowest known weight of the GT2 that is still streetable?

Marc
