Anyone have the X-Cellerator crossflow exhaust? Feedback please.
Yeah.. At Sears point I drove a 700 HP Dodge Viper on Hoosier R6's...

That thing spent the whole time trying to kill me.... You can't get enough tire under a really high HP street car that you are taking to the track unless you go to slicks and have a nearly unlimited budget to throw at Michelin or Bridgestone.. Not only that, but using slicks will overwhelm most suspension components to the point that they start to break under the huge increase in load... I have been down that road before.. 600 HP will do me just fine thanks...

Can you give me your impressions of what your package feels like and specifically what Kevin's tune is like?
Well after driving my car for going on three years now, all I can say is I have zero need and I mean ZERO need for more power. I'm far more interested in learning to drive the car at the current limits. I know this isn't a popular stance among our vendors, but really, how much is really enough?

I was being mildly sarcastic. However I will also point out that we do have throttles on these cars and that they aren't binary switches. It is also possible to turn down boost if you fit it to do so - so you can have your cake and eat it too...

Very happy with the overall package, the tune is spot on and now matches his ZC Turbos perfectly, at just shy of 500rwhp (Dyno Dynamics) it goes well.
The tune is not a once of flash tune, it's custom as it can be with distance between (US-AUS). It consists of data logs and sending files back and forward a few times to get it just right. All I know is that no two cars are the same and NEVER go with a company offering a once of flash.
The main reason for choosing Kevin IMO, is his reputation on all forums (only ever read 1 neg comment), his service is A1 and quality is extremely high (not mass produced gear). But you can never know who to go with or if you made the right decision until you dip your toe in the water or for some of dive right in.

Thanks for the information.. I am holding off on Turbos until AMS shows their hand with the new K24 Billet setup.... After those figures show up, I will decide on the next steps of Turbos, clutch, injectors etc....
Fair enough, enjoy

At first, I found the sound to be too loud, with appreciable drone. But with time, the drone has reduced substantially, rather than increased, and the sound is absolutely fantastic. (And no, its not that my hearing is shot). I've heard my neighbor's Tubi on his X50, and there is no comparison. The sound is much richer, and sounds like a true sports car. If I had to purchase another exhaust, I would purchase the 3" X-cellerator again without hesitation. The car breathes beautifully with nearly non-existent lag, and the sound with acceleration, not even WOT, still brings a smile to my face.

I still love it though for exactly what you said...if the drone will reduce like you said, I can only say this is a very great system.
beckham23,
One of the great features of our component approach on the X-cellerator systems is the flexability to change the performance and sound without having to buy a whole new system. You have some options to reduce drone simply by changing tips or alternatively, increase performance and sound with bypass pipes.
For instance, our 2.5 tips on a 3" system will substantially reduce any drone you are experiencing. You could keep the 3" tips for times when you want it louder and use the 2.5 tips with the wife, etc. A complete tip change takes about 2 minutes, so it is very quickly and easily done. And it will make a substantial difference.

I think you misunderstand. The 2.5 and 3.0 round tips both have a 4" diameter, polished rolled edge to fill the void. So the 2.5 and 3.0 single outlet tips look the same from the outside and fill the bumper cut-out the exact same way. It's just that the 2.5 tips have 2.5" internals and will quiet down and reduce drone on a full 3" system like you have.
Alternatively, you can use the 2.5 dual tips which totally fill out the bumper cut-out with additional horizontal width, due to the side by side design of dual tips. Either way you do not give up any "fill" factor, you just alter the sound characteristics.

Hope all's well buddy
Excellent thread here, lots of good information on everyone's system.
There will be a release of our "New Style" 996tt system that was used on the latest p800 996tt builds that should be up later this week, as well as some other goodies

I agree. I happen to be very happy with my old style Switzer....and it seems to show no signs of wearing out. I just got a compliment on it today...on the sound and on the workmanship of the tips' insides (you have to see them to believe them....). No, I don't polish them. Soap and water. They are sort of dirty actually. I use the car every day...and I miss the sound when in other cars.
