guys i had to get a new key for my car, and had the immobilizer reprogrammed


however, when i turn the car off and lock the doors, the instrument cluster indicators stay on....
(temp, speedometer, and clock)


whats going on ?

 

if the car has been at rest and the cluster is off it stays off when I set the alarm...if I just got out and shut the door the cluster will stay on for some time and then they will go out...but if I just get out, shut the door and set the alarm the cluster goes out as soon as I set the alarm...if they still go off eventually like they would if you didn't lock it I wouldn't worry about it

 

Are you sure you just never noticed that it stayed on then shut off?? If I go open my car right now in the garage with no key (doors open) clusters will turn on, if I shut door they stay on then automatically turn off..

I think when I set my alarm my stuff stays on for a while too?

 

When I set my alarm everything goes out. Maybe the dealer needs to check the reprogram.

 

What everyone else is describing seems normal to me as well. I think you just may not have noticed it before. Take a look inside your engine compartment through the vents next time you open your door, that light turns on as well!!!

 

i locked my car last night
just went into it and everything is still on and i didnt hit the unlock button...

 

what happens when you lock it manually? when you lock the car the lights should all go out...somethings not right and eventually you will wake up to a dead battery or the dash lights will burn out
