All of the advice so far has been spot on. As was mentioned earlier, I would add good intercoolers to your list. I too had a 930 and I'm now building a 800+ (crank) 996tt. 500 hp to the wheels in an extended (racing) environment with proper tune, fuel and cooling isn't taxing the 996tt's engine at all.

 

Sounds kind of like a Bull Run car......

 

What kind of gas will you be running?

Don't expect to make more than 625-675 real HP on 91 and 93 octane respectively.

 

You can get over 500whp on K16's, and you would want response of course for this sort of setup, so those would be better than the k24's. If you go with anyone's aftermarket K series turbos, be sure that they are fully refurbished, not just old cores with new compressor wheels. Those will not last when taxed hard..

Even better than that would be the GT28 based, spools faster than stock, more top end power, and a better, longer lasting ball bearing center section.

500 whp on straight K16's? Or 16g's? With just tune exhaust?

 

I have an old dyno sheet for our billet k16's that is 526whp with supporting mods - our L2 best value package, click the link in my signature. 550whp is not that far fetched at all from those.

Flash, filter and exhaust is good for roughly 70-80hp over stock.

Edit, what exhaust will you be looking to run? How loud?
