Good article explaining the theroy behind the rattle. Now makes sense.
On changing the oil, that sounds like a possible solution to try. All you are out is the time and oil. If it works, Fine..

Thanks for the responses.

There is a reason why nearly every transmission guru, tuner, race prep shop recommends Delvac.

I did not want to tell a guy to go against PCNA spec fluids over the noise just to get rid of the noise and then put the tranny up for grabs. Separate issue. I read change as change brand/type/spec to heavier stuff somehow. Nothing more than that.

Delvac or the Dealer supplied and labeled Delvac.

I suspect other fluids would be fine, but I don't know enough to try...and I did a full tranny job due to 2nd gear popout and don't want to go there for a long time.

As an aside, years ago when I got the LWFW, Kevin at UMW suggested that the use of the LWFW might actually decrease wear/load on the main bearing(s). I don't remember the exact data/details...but in the big picture using one might be better for an engine.

No, I don't understand this enough to say more than that. I've been happy and the engine revs much faster.

To the OP, good luck!

Jeff
