X50 Performance Kit?
I checked the sticker under the bonnet, X50 was on it. I checked the intercoolers, they have fins.
In researching the 911 and a fair price for a car when I was looking to buy, I'd say I did ok to well.* The miles vs price ( IMO ) was about a 5.5 or 6 on a scale of 10 being you got screwed and paid to much. Now knowing I got an X50 and not just a 911 Turbo, I'd say I paid about a 2.5 or 3 considering what I found on the Internet last night looking at the whole country for 911 Turbo X50s that I could find for sale.
It was pushing a lot of miles, just over 66,000 when I got it. Daily driver miles mostly in Fl. I paid in the mid 30's for the car, including getting it shipped. The seller also let me take it to a Porsche mechanic and he fixed the few things that was wrong on his dime.
It is what it is, a used car. That being said at any time something could go wrong w/ it. I drive it daily and have put 4,000+ mile on it in 3 months w/ no problems.
To say I feel like I won the lottery is an understatement!

I had the exact same experience today. Didn't have a lot of info on the car as I had a broker find it for me. Just wanted triple black, 6sp, cab. Any options would be a bonus. Car arrives last night. Can't read the options list under the hood. It looked like someone had cleaned over it and faded the print some. Sent VIN to Ric at Suncoast to decode (super nice of them to provide this service).
Amongst the many options including sport steering wheel, hand brake, and gear lever in carbon, full leather dash and console, was the X50 performance kit. I had even joked with the broker about wouldn't that be cool if it had the X50 package. It's like Xmas in March.

I wouldn't say it's minimal. It's a 10% power difference, albeit at higher RPM than the stock car. I've driven both and the X50 is noticeably faster than a regular Turbo.
Exact same thing happened to me. I called the Porsche dealer with the VIN prior to purchase. He read me the options. I made him confirm three times that it was an X50.
Seller was a small dealer. At the time (Dec 08) there was a big difference in X50 and non-X50 price. I negotiated hard and paid a little less than the typical non-X50 price.
I didn't feel the need to tell him. He made a profit and clearly bought it from a seller that didn't know either.
It's a wonderful surprise
