X50 Performance Kit?
I got my 966T in Oct 09. From all my research and reading I knew more about the car then the guy I bought it from. I am the 3rd owner and when I saw the thread about having my VIN# read for all the factory info on the car I thought why not.
THANKS! to Ric Knab and Suncoast Auto Group for running the VIN#. My question is this, is there more then (1) X50 package you could get from Porsche?
Here is part of the email about the factory specs of the car.

MNR Type Description
249 Tiptronic S
342 Heated seats
692 CDC-4 six disc CD autochanger
X50 Performance Kit
XSC Porsche Crest embossed on head restraints
Y29 Aluminium/stainless steel/chrome package
Is this an upgrade that makes my car an X50 or is it something else? It wasn't sold to me as an X50 Turbo and the original sticker is long since gone. Anyway, I replied to Rick but thought he might be to busy to deal w/ my single question. Yet, after being here a few months I am sure there are a few guys that know as much about the 996T as Porsche does. So, what say you?

I'm not trying to find out the cost. I'm trying to find out if this means my car is an X50. I don't know enought about Porsche Factory options to know if it is or not. Like I said, it wasn't sold to me as an X50 Turbo.

Thanks, I'll do it when I get home from work. I know the gain in HP and speed/time is minimal to have the X50, especially for $17,000 give or take on the cost from the factory. I just don't want to say mine is and find out it really isn't.

As I recall, you can look at the sticker under your bonnet to see if it has X50 option code on it. I think you can also give any Porsche dealer your VIN and they can tell you if it is a factory X50. There was a thread recently about NON factory X50, but I don't remember what it was about. It sounds like you HAVE an X50 car.

you have the X50 package unless suncoast made a mistake, unlikely (check your car when you get home as detailed in Seths post) yes there is only one X50 package and it looks like you have it, congrats you got a nice option, shame on the seller for being an idiot and not knowing what he was driving
I was assuming he was talking about the window "sticker" in his original post, but YMMV.
I would agree witht he other and think it was a true X50 car, which could have saved you a couple thousand bucks on the purchase.

Sorry, I was talking about the original window sticker. I have always kept mine w/ every new car I have purchased. I have not looked at the sticker under the bonnet. I will when I look at the intercoolers.
I don't mean to doubt Rick or Suncoast Auto. I just wanted to have some clarification. It's like getting a winning lotto ticket and having to look at the #s then have some1 read them off to believe you won.
I called Mike at Jackie Cooper Porsche in Tulsa, OK. He said it is an X50.
Like I said, it is just hard to believe that the guy I got it from knew nothing of this and sold it to me as a regular ( if there is such a thing ) 911 Turbo. I am still going to have to look at the sticker under the bonnet and the intercoolers. But I feel about 98% sure it's an X50!
