throw out bearing just went again...

Heavy..the symptoms? The clutch pedal won't move because the ears are broken off the release bearing. No ears, no movement. If you"force" the pedal down, only one thing will happen....you'll blow a clutch hose off. Ask me how I know...yeah a little frustrated the second or third time ie happened!
BTS Steve- I finally did the gt2 conversion...awseome!

Nope. But I did change the entire clutch out as well and went with an Aasco flywheel, which is lightweight BUT importantly is the same THICKNESS as the stocker, thus enabling one to revert back to the shorter eared release bearing. Went with heavier, unsprung clutch setup as well. Love it. Absolutely LOVE IT!

That's the clutch Heavy, although I bought mine from Tim [Colorinc]. The pic is from EVOMS catalog/website, "STAGE III DUAL MASS SUPER SPORT" $2195 ..... but that price does not include the flywheel. That's the 999 Sachs PP with the unsprung disc. I had the billet piece for the gt2 slave conversion, then bought the hose, slave, master, servo switch, etc from Pelican.

I Have the lwfw and have had no issues, I know of at least 6 cars that have it as well without issues. And Almost every issue I have heard of has been poor installation with flipped disc and the way the TO is installed instead of using a press, they stand on it on cement to fit it in like frieken monkeys. Sometimes they get it right sometimes they don't. Luck of the draw. I am sure some aftermarket TO bearing companies are farming their product out to china and there may be some issues there. I wish there was a way to determine where the TO's came from. Definitely nothing wrong with the LWFW. Porsche uses it in the 997GT3RS. If there was any problems they would have moved on. Definitely better than a warpable aluminum flywheel.

I wish that were the case, but I had one go after only one day at the track after changing to a clutchmasters kit. Frankly I would take my chances with the other flywheel warping than having to pay to replace bearing after bearing.
This hasn't seemed to be an epidemic until now, so either way it looks bad on the parts. Obviously all of the bad installations didn't just now start happening on side a wide scale.
I'd like not to have to buy another flywheel, but I certainly will before I replace 3 and 4 throwout bearings. Granted I'm still rather neutral as I have lots of track miles on that throwout bearing on the old clutch so it doesn't make sense to me that it would go after only one day on the new clutch.

I have a UMW (Sachs based) clutch kit, the 964rs flywheel, and the evo gt2 mod.
NO issues in 14k miles. None.
Just a data point. Now, I hate Porsche accumulators and slave cylinders....hence the gt2 mod ...
Good luck.

My release bearings were manufactured by Sachs. I am not smart enough to know if this even relates to the to bearing, but the gt3rs has 300 ft lbs of tq. Our cars are closer to twice that number.
