during your turbo ownership, what regrets do you have ?
i remember the first week i got my car, i started posting threads in regards to power mods.
I remember a few members (markski, divexxtreme, jitsu) all told me that i would never be happy and to go all out from the beginning.
after two years of ownership, ive dumped 30k into the car...
if i could do it all over again, i think i would have been a little more patient and waited for a GT 2 or possibly have built the motor and put an lsd from the beginning
besides the money i put into the car, the car has been in the shop for a total of 5 months
maybe new owners can check this thread out, and if you have intentions of building a high hp 996, do it from the get go
what about you guys ? what would you have done differently ?

I like the civility of the 996TT due to the all wheel drive. I have had some tail happy cars in my day and having AWD is sure nice for a change. I don't have any regrets to date. I think the car is boring stock though
No Regrets:
· Bought a Turbo instead of GT2 or GT3; I actually love AWD. For an average driver like me, it is much safer.
· Went with the SharkWerks/EVOMs package… the GT package is soooo reliable, I have zero down time with my car (knocking on wood).
Regrets:
· Bought a Tip instead of a 6speed thinking one day my wife would drive the car too… Not because of 6speed is more fun to drive (the Tip is very fun to drive), but it is because the power level potential.
· Bought my car before the economic meltdown, keep thinking that the money I paid with the mods, I could have a nice Lambo or Aston.

I regreat NOT to been beaten so far by anyone in street racing
I have been VERY LUCKY.
I know there must be some cars that can beat me in my small town, but i haven't seen them so far,i hope no to find them soon.
I've had two losts for miss-shifting but beat both cars 2 times (997 tt) and 3 times ( ferrari 430)
I realy enjoy very much my car.I bought it used (2002) and has not bother at all, knock on wood also.I am very happy with she.It was my dream car and it is now the car i've enjoy the most.
The tunners are MARKSKI with Todd K. from PROTOMOTIVE,very happy with them. They realy know what to do.

I would have done so major mods sooner. I have had my car for about three years and didnt do much to it. For the last year or so i keep going back and forth in my mind about selling it or upgrading the suspension, GT front bumper, wheels, etc. Wish i would have taken the plunge when it was new so i could have enjoyed them longer.
However, I found that some of smaller mods (997 shifter, painted rear console, aluminum trim rings on cluster, etc ) yielded a lot of satisfaction with minimal expense and really made the car my own!
