How reliable are the 6speeds on the 996TT's? Is it a common occurance for leaking or replacing the clutch after (30k,60k or 90k) amount of miles?

Turbo in stock form is a boring car to start with . Now a tip will just make it even more boring. If you are a manual guy ...i am sure you will regret your decision.

I have a alpha tip near my home , he has been trying to workout bugs for the past 1 year...so if you are going to mod your car for big power...stay away!!!

Never heard of that one. They are very reliable IMO.

Yeah, the "big" power guys are breaking difs and axles, not so much trannys. They do have synchros that can be hurt if you drive like an...well, you know. Could happen, but you gotta try real hard to hurt a Turbo tranny.

I think he means about the clutch accumalator and slave. If that is the case, it can go out but it gives you warning and the replacement isn't that big of a deal. The 2nd gear pop out issue is something you need to be careful with but now there is a fix to prevent it from happening, or at least the probability. Moving up to steel synchros is the more intense solution.

The trans itself is very solid and is built to take it.
