After 4.5 months It's home...

So today I drove my car home from the shop, which is about 60 miles away. Mike

Good to hear. Congrats on getting her back.

I assume 997T gears are taller? What speeds do you hit in gears 1-3?

Do you know if 997 GT2 gears are the same?

I wasn't doing any serious testing, but I'll get you that data soon... My car has an elevated redline.

Great news... Glad you have your beast back.. Now get it out on track and post some Video for us..

I don't suppose you feel like coming out to California and getting out on track with us at Laguna sometime? I'm feeling lonely out there and need some Turbo Porsche company...

Congrats, Mike. I'm sure it feels good to have it back. The clutch pedal effort will not get any easier, but after you adjust to it (a few weeks), you will barely notice the extra effort - it will just seem normal. But you will notice how fantastic your clutch control is every time you drive the car. That does not go away with time.

Finally! That is great news. I hope that you get some good opportunities to test it out.

Mine is going under the knife next week, and one of the upgrades coming is the GT-2 clutch actuator. Glad to hear that you like it.

Mike, glad you got it back finally. As for the high clutch pedal. get the RSS clutch stop. It is the spacer that goes under the pedal and makes the bottom of the stroke shorter. I did this and my high pedal engagement is no longer a problem.

2LOW4 is infamous around these parts
Congrats, it sounds like they took care of you and maybe made the wait more tolerant. Waiting for your review on the cables and 997SSK now.

Are these the RSR cables from Porsche Motorsport?

Mine is also going in next week for the GT2 hydraulics. Can't wait to get rid of all the pentosin parts. I think my whole system is shot. The resevoir for the pentosin is both overfilling and running dry leaving my pedal on the floor. The engagement point is running up and down the whole lenght of the pedal travel.

Thanks for the update Mike.

Great to hear that you got everything worked out with your gearbox. Keep in mind that you are going to need to change out the gear oil after your first good weekend of driving, as the LSD will shed some material during break-in that you do not want to have rolling around in there.

I look forward to hearing what your thoughts of the 997 TT main shaft 1st, 2nd, and 3rd combo. This is a upgrade that we do quite frequently here.

Erik,

do you have the gear ratios to compare 996 / 996 TT? Is the 997 GT2 identical to the 997TT in terms of gearing etc...?

How about final drive ratio?

I did notice a while back that the 997 GT2 seems to do 50 MPH in first gear and has a similar redline to the 996TT. That would be a huge improvement both in terms of launch and not having to shift just as the turbos are starting to really spool up.
