996 TT upgrade advice re tiptronic

Guys,

For those of you who have tiptronic can you tell me with the upgrades you have done whether you have had any issues re the transmission and torque convertor.

Has anyone had to fit the EVOMS torque convertor upgrade?

I will be running a package with 20gs as the base.

What level of AWHP can the transmission take.

Really looking for real world experience on this.

The transmission I have is 2001 Tiptronic S.

I have a 2003 X50 Tip, and was told that the stock tranny can handle 700 CRANK horsepower. I think that's basically a K24/18G setup, flash, and exhaust. I'd talk to a tuner that has done a bunch of these before trying to just order the parts and have a local mechanic install it. If you haven't bought anything yet, I found Tony at EPL very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I don't think you'll find too many talk badly about that shop on these boards. There are lots of other good tuners on here, but I can only speak from experience.

jgood is infamous around these parts
I am having my 01 tiptronic updated by Tony at EPl currently. I have a K24 set up with meth and he is tuning the tip ecu to complement this setup. EPL/Tony is a very knowledgeable shop. They helped me correct a mistake problem another tuner on this board made to my car which made it undrivable for a long time. The scary thing is that this other 'tuner' shop flashed my car with software that was not intended for my maf or a tiptronic.
