TT Question?

I recently bought a 996 TT and I was wondering is there a way to make the rear spoiler stay up, or does it just go up and down automatically with speed?
thanks

It normally goes UP at 75mph and goes down at around 35-40pmh or so. You should be able to push the button on the dash to put it up. You have to HOLD it to put it all the way down. Most don't mess with this as it seems to wear out the rams, so I've heard.

PS... congrats on the car!!!

Nice looking car.
Just push the button on the dash and you will be fine.

Even is you manually raise the spoiler, does it still go down after driving it? You may be able to pull the fuse after you raise it but not sure if that will create a CEL...

When you start your car just hold the bottun till you see the spoiler stop. It will stay up until you shut off your car, restart it, then star driving again.
It does look cool, but it also puts a lot of stress on the hydraulic cylinders. You will pay a premium price to have a tech replace them if 1 or both go out.
I let mine work like it's meant to. You can have it made to stay up all the time and have the hydraulic system taken out completely.

Thanks guys! I don't have that issue with my GT2 but when I was driving the TT home my buddy who was following me called me and said that it was going up when I was running the speed up and was going down under 50 so I was curious how it worked.

That's exactly how it works.

Per owner's manual: the 996TT rear spoiler extends at 75mph and retracts at 37mph.

I always lock mine up and never had any issues. Purely esthetic.
