the old break ck was done to me in my 56chev maybe 20 years ago. was on hwy 80 with my the 7 year old son. i change lanes and hit the gas the car fishtailed a bit( blower on a 350) and i slowed and got back in the slow lane. some idot pulled in fornt of us and hit his breaks ,haveing no path of escape i locked up the old drum brakes went side ways for a while ,after all was calm i pulled up to the guy and made the reach(asthough reaching for a gun)he pulled of the freeway at once. this was most likly the dumbest thing i have ever done in my adult life... but i'm still here and we never told mom

I was driving home from work, and took an on-ramp near my house at a "fun" rate of speed. As I'm reaching the end of the on-ramp, there is a mini-van in front of me that was merging into traffic.....very s..l..o.w..l..y..

I slowed down, waited for her to move into the left lane, and then hit the throttle and passed her using the far right lane. After I was 2-3 car lengths ahead of her, I merged into her lane ensuring there was a HUGE amount of room between us.

Well, for some reason, this really pissed her off! She flipped me the bird and proceeded to floor her throttle in order to get on my bumper. I'm doing 70 or so and this crazy lady is 5 feet behind me! I took the next exit, which is the one that leads to my home, and of course..she takes it as well and is still on my bumper.

Well, needless to say I'm getting very angry at this point, so I decide to give her a tiny brake check. She backed off for a second, but then got on my bumper again and flipped me off one more time!

Now I'm really angry. I proceed to brake-check the crap out of my car and then moved to the right as soon as I see the front of her mini-van drop down from her slamming on her brakes. Well, she ended up hitting her brakes so hard that some liquid (I think it was a cup of coffee) ended up flying forward, hitting and completely covering the inside of her windshield!

I slow down, and watch her pull off onto the shoulder and get out of car still flipping me off! She was covered in coffee!! I still laugh about it to this day.

Yes, before you say it, I realize that brake-cheking her wasn't safe...and I don't do it anymore...but damn was that funny!
Great story. I, too, know the brake check thing is not a good idea for my safety or their's, but I just have to do it sometimes to make some space.

Something I do that's a little variation of the brake check but without the added risk of a tail strike. I just barely touch the brake pedal so that it activates the tail lights but doesn't really brake the car. It get's the same nose dive reaction for your favorite tail gater and you get a better view without worrying about them plowing into you.

That's a great story about the rageaholic coffee loving mini van driving momma Scott.

DrivItLkUStolIt is infamous around these parts
I have a nice quick release mount for my fire extinguisher. Does anyone know where I can get a quick release mount for my 9MM Browning? WOW some wild stories.

I have an incident I witnessed a couple years ago. E55 on Highway 80 certainly going over 100 since I was going over 95 mph and he flew by me, and a Toyota Camry trying to keep up with him. The E55 makes a quick lane change the Toyota tries to make the lane change, losses control goes off the road and flips the car over. Darwinism at it's best.

Yes, do get idiots harassing me in the Turbo but not as crazy as some of these stories. My wife’s DD is a Cayenne Turbo almost "S", she only works 7 miles from home and people are always F--ing with her on Highway 87 getting on her bumper trying to get in front and cut her off, unbelievable. (Maybe they recognize the car from when I drive it)

I got called on the carpet by human resources for having "offensive" material sent to my office. I had the last laff when i invited the entire staff to witness the opening of the the **** porsche pedals.

OK so about 20 years ago I'm cruising on the 405 north right before teh I10 interchange. I signal so I can safely merge onto the on-ramp for the next freeway. The girl in the other lane decides that she is going to punch it to close the door if you will. I punch it as well and start opening up the gap and easily merge. The whole time we're picking up speed so in a few seconds we're doing about 85. I can see the girl is SUPER pissed and tailgaiting so I SLAM on the brakes and immediately punch it again. She sees the rear end of my car lift and panics swerving to the right in an avoidance maneuver.... just in time for her to "catch" the exit going totally the opposite direction she intended.

I wave at her heading east on teh 10 toward downtown Los Angeles while I head on the 10 west toward the beach. Yes she was a bit angry to say the least...

Totally true story.

dont get many people messing with me in the 911, but prior to 911 ownership, used to instigate "competitive driving" with any 911 (or any premium branded sports car, willing participants of course) when ever safe traffic conditions allowed... so I can empathize with the temptation. "nice car poser, now lets see what you got..."

As far as rude, unconsciencious drivers, people in this geographic location are more afraid to get into accidents and go out of their way to avoid tangles with expensive cars like porsches. unlike the states, insurance claims here are not as common place because using it usually has greater financial consequence, so it's saved for really total loss or worse situations. Most fender benders are 100% out of pocket.

On side note, got picked on a lot driving the exige. It was both slow and small.

They knew you couldn't run so that is why they did it. You should have just told them they were #1.
