keeping the spoiler extended?

My spoiler stopped working. What I was thinking about doing was removing the cylider that pushes up the spoiler and seeing if there is any way to just push up the spoiler manually and attach some type of plate at the bottom to hold it up. Has this been tried or done?

Not too common, wanting in stuck in the up position....but I'm sure it's do-able. The springs in ea. cylinder that pull the wing down are serious springs but if you ripped them out, anything is possible. There has been posts showing the internals.
Otherwise your options are fix or shop for new wing.

GreggT, no springs in the rams. They're hydraulic.

It can be done. Todd from Protomotive told me he can fix mine permanently up all the time. I didn't go into details but he didn't act like it was that big of a deal.

I would rather put 1500 it's going to cost for a new wing+paint job on something else that will give me more power or safety items. I don't care much for areo stuff at this point. Just want to see if it could be done and how.
