Headlights and fenders can't match a bumper. Now try getting rear ended by another SUV with equal height bumper then we'll see what really happens.

It's not my concern to reduce costs to other motorists, especially if they are rear-ending me. In insurance company terms, the car hitting the other from behind is always at fault.

Your bumper is not meant to be a ramming device.

That's a narrow way of thinking. The other car's insurance company can be same as yours. Don't think you will never rear end someone else. When it happens, you'd hope that bumper will meet bumper to reduce damage to car and occupants, especially if there are old/young passengers in the rear of the other car.

Red Devil, it is devil's speaking right?
I've been in situation where it's not anyone's fault for bumping into each other, like on icy roads around ski slopes for example. Friends bumped into friend's cars. Yes. We were sliding that far! In that case, in any case, I don't wish undue damage to anyone's car. We were lucky that all our SUV's bumpers were relatively the same height so no damage occurred to lights/hoods/fenders.
Wish you save driving and all those around you. I definitely don't want to follow you to the ski slopes.

Scott - I'm not an H2 fan, but the Cayenne would be high on my list. X5 just lacks cargo space in a bad way. Get an X3, which has more cargo space and buy a Humdinger golf cart with the $10k you save.
If you gotta go mid-large SUV, I'm partial to the new Pathfinder and 4Runner. My Sequoia was awesome, but my wife just felt too much like a bus driver. We also like the X3, but are just annoyed with BMW sales & service.
Good luck!

I saw a white Cayenne Turbo yesterday that looked really sharp. I've never liked the pepper's looks but this one came together nicely. No bling rims or anything and I'm sure the S would look just as good if your pocketbook can't stomach the difference.

I think the Cayenne is a front runner or even a fully loaded Tourag.
BTW, a $10k golf cart would be amazing. lol. I could tune the #$%@ out of it for that money.
RX330 AWD starts at $37,825, Lexus invented the cross-over market, they offer anything the competition does.
sale up till the nov of this yr.
RX330 (94,000) > MDX > X3 (32,000) > SRX (26,000) > FX(21,000)
They're all car-unibodies
RX330 heavily modified Camry platform
MDX - Accord
X3 - 3-series
SRX - CTS/STS
FX - G35/M35
Toyota is replacing the 10yr old 3.0/3.3L with a new 3.5L, it's in the new Avalon (also Camry based). Some say it will wind up in the RX next yr.

Edit: I said the RX330 offers anything the competition does, that's not true, the SRX and that Volvo crossover offer a V8 engine option.
