The lexus cross-dresser is solidly built and has very nice interiors to pamper the front and rear passengers. The trunk space is so-so but definitely better than the X5. I would've gotten for my wife except she's a euro snob.

The way these things drive is still fundamentally similar to their parent company's roots. That is, the Lexus is soft, quiet and soulless. Nicely done, no fuss and no muss. If you don't care about how a car(truck) feels in your hands, then the BMW or Porsche is probably a waste of money. The Acura is a decent piece and probably halfway between sport & lux. Probably the best bang for the buck as it is getting long in the tooth and they are dealing on them for the first time ever. They are leasing MDX's for just under $400 month and Cayenne S is $599 around here.

I need to give the MDX another look. They weren't dealing on them at all a couple of years ago, and it was nice, but not for the asking price.

I don't care too much in the SUV driving feel, but it would be nice ot have either, 1 that drives like a nice car (BMW, Cayenne) or one that's pure cushy luxury (Lexus), and in between w/ Acura is a good option too.

So many good options. Thanks for the input.

I almost forgot about the MDX. Its probably the best all around value if you don't need to tow. The Lexus RX330 is a very nice ride. We had a 2002 RX300 and it was flawless. No one does service like Lexus either. We drove a couple 330's at various times, but they had the same appeal as our RX. Quiet, competent, and comfortable. Modestly perfect. (read: boring) For a few bucks more you can check out the GX470 and get a little personality.

If you have a little time to spare, the new Mercedes ML's should be hitting the ground soon.

I do have time. I don't really like the current ML's so it will be interesting to see how the new ones look and drive.
MB quality has me worried lately, but they usually do right in the end.

The good thing is that I'm not in a hurry.
Thanks Aron.
