Experiencing PMS before leaving to inspect possible 996TT purchase!

I fly out Saturday to look at the car I've been studying: A heavily modded '01 996TT. If you read my other threads, you know that I have never even sat in a Porsche. I live in a small town, the opportunity just hasn't come up yet.

I am very interested to see what happens. I will either fall in love like most of you say I will. Or I will have a sudden case of Male PMS (parting with money syndrome.) I'm excited to see the outcome.

Enjoy and you WILL love it. Just remember, respect what the seller says BUT ALWAYS CONFIRM CONDITION. Unless you have a good mechanic with you to inspect it, be sure to have a quality PPI done before parting with your money. These are great cars but they can be abused/neglected and suck up incredible amounts of money to make right again. Buy a good one and you will never regret it.

GOOD LUCK

JR

If the car checks out for you and the PPI, there is little doubt that you will truly love it. Many folks here have parted with their money for these cars and will mostly tell you that the 996TT represents the best overall value and fun car that they've ever owned. I'm one of those people. Practice prudence and due diligence as always to protect yourself, but if it checks out then you will be reporting back to us soon how much you love your new-to-you Porsche! Good luck and best wishes.

One thing I would ABSOLUTELY do is do find out how many engine hours are on it.....especially with a TT That is claiming ultra low mileage....the hours will either pretty much back it up or possibly disqualify the claimed mileage.

I had the Durametric software and it was excellent...or any dealer can do it for you. Read this...
