How possible to fit 265 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup front with Turbo suspension?

I am quite sure sharkster or oak or someone can help with this question...

The front wheels I use are 9" ET41 so they would fit the 265/35/18 MPSC tires appropriately.

Suspension is PSS9-based with GT3 lower control arms and -2.7 or so negative camber. Of course small rubbing due to inappropriate caster or so is not a problem...

I have heard that people run 255's and 265's (although different manufacturers' tires that may be a tad bit narrower than the Michelins?) all day long in GT2's and GT3's without any problems with appropriate track alignment. However, with Turbos the suspension geometry is different and I have heard a lot of stories that the wider 265 tire would hit the spring, see pics from this old thread: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...8-fitment.html

However, in that thread the original poster ColorChange (who I cannot get any contact - he has not visited the site for 2 years) had Fikse front wheels with 9.5" ET51, so his wheels were 16mm more inwards than the wheels I use...

So what do you think? Will I get into problems if changing from 235/40 to 265/35 with 9" ET41? Thanks a lot for any comments...

Al Norton was running Hoosier 275s on the front, which have a section width 10.9 and a treadwidth of 10.3! I've just bought the setup off him, with some CCW wheels... He made it work, so I'm sure you can with a narrow section width/tread width. I'd recommend some adjustable thrust bushings so you can pull out some of the positive caster added when you crank up the negative camber.

Tom Kerr has some pretty fat tyres IIRC

And 'LINKS' has 9.5" fronts with 255's

Thanks for the fast feedback.

I am staying with MPSC as they are the fastest tires on dry circuits that I can drive to and from the circuits. However, seems a bit challenging as all I would want to do is a small fender job.

Additional information here; itacud fitted MPSC 265/35/18 on a 10" 7.25" backspacing rim (can someone convert this to Offset?) but as you can see from the needed modifications, I won't go this far:

More info will be appreciated! Especially exact wheel specs with wide fronts.

10" at 7.25" backspacing sounds like ET57?

Okay, then the 10" ET57 would be due to its high offset a lot more inside than my 9" ET41. Guess if I pick some 265/35's the problem will be "only" the outside fender area and how it can be modified easily. But doesn't seem to be impossible. Interesting...

ant, btw. Nice Daytonas you have. Too bad the 6-pot brakes don't fit those. (Just to advice you as I remember a thread where you were contemplating a brake upgrade...).

a 10" with ET57 would give you....
3mm MORE outer clearance
and
29mm LESS inner clearance than you currently have

An offset of ET54 would give you the same outer clearance that you currently have and 26mm less inner clearance

BTW - did you notice an improvement in handling when you changed your Daytonas?

Did the reduced unsprung weight make a noticeable difference either day-to-day or on the track?
