Just thought I would introduce myself
Just thought I would introduce myself
I've been lurking around here for awhile now, with a few posts here and there but thought I would go ahead and say hello.
I will be buying a 996 Turbo when I get back from living overseas in Romania, and absolutely can't wait! This forum is great with not only the P-cars, but with the investing and watch parts as well, as I am into both.
I graduated Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M last May and now have a job in Romania in the oil and gas field, so I'll get to save a lot of money while over here! I actually worked for Hennessey for awhile right out of school, but I know that's not going to impress anyone haha. Anyways I am just a huge car nut over all and have bought and sold cars since I was 16, mostly all sports cars and modified by me, to make money and pay for college! I also do, I guess did now, a lot of driving as well as working on all my cars myself. I used to do some karting and was an instructor at Texas World Speedway while in College Station, as well as driving for the Texas A&M race car that we build to compete.
Anyways this forum is great and I can't wait to learn more!

welcome ..... so when are you moving back? it sounds like you're fairly knowledgeable about cars/racing and your choice of wanting to get a 996tt shows some good judgment. i noticed on a previous thread you were wanting to see some more pics of my car. here's one more. i bought it 4 months ago and for the last month it's been in houston (i live in fort worth) getting all kinds of mods put on (Li, hre's, clutch, pss10's, spi L2 and on and on). my advice to you: 1. read a bazillion threads and you'll see many issues brought up over and over. there's a beaten path that the guys on here have set out. 2. be patient in picking out your car. don't get one with rosewood accents or gray interior or even supple seats unless you want it and if you're looking for a white one, just wait. one will become available. 3. save money for mods. even with trying to be cost conscious and thinking that a flash shouldn't cost you 2k and an exhaust shouldn't cost you 4k, i've ended up spending a bundle.
