High Speed Run prep
High Speed Run prep
I am thinking about going to Loring Maine this July. It's a 1.5 run with a 1.0 slow down at the end. I am guessing that I could bump up against 200 mph and wonder if there's anything I should consider doing aerodynamically to improve handling/drivability at that speed?
Are people go that fast with stock 996TT aerodynamics? Stock tires (PS2s)?
Wondering particularly about the front end.

I would look at lowering the car some with the PSS10. I took the mirrors off. I pulled the spoiler fuse so it would not deploy at 75mph. These all help cut drag but did not make the car feel light or difficult to control. I would check your alignment before you go.

With your mods, you should be OK. I went last year and am going again this year, with the bike again, no car. They use ECTA's rules, so if you plan to over 130, you better have an 8 point cage plus all the other goodies. Get a copy of the ECTA rules NOW, so you don't make the trip to spectate. You can lie about how fast you will go, but you will only get one run,...trust me. It is an AWESOME time. My little Gixxer 1000 went 205 last year.
