It'd be interesting to hear the other side of the story.

Its still inexcusable however for them to wait 3 weeks to contact you again, its almost like they were trying to push you past a 30day return policy or something.

Regardless, sound is subjective, as everyone hears and interprets things differently. Each car will sound different, different mods, different tune etc., so yea you can get an idea by listening to a youtube clip, or hearing it on someone elses car, but it doesnt guarantee it will sound the same on your car.

 

I am curious what did you not like about the Cargraphic. I am getting ready to pull the trigger on buying the Cargraphic exhaust.

You probably don't want to buy a third exhaust, but we make a full 3" cross-flow system (our X-cellerator 3.0 loud version) that you may want to consider. It can be supplied with or without 100 cell cats and has the GT3-like sound that I think you are looking for...PM me for details and 6speed member pricing if you are interested. I will do my best to help you out...I didn't mention our 2.5 quiet because I think you are looking for the louder, aggressive sound of our 3.0 design.

Fabspeed's customer service has always been excellent, this change must be a sign of the times. I guess the economy is catching up with them.

 

Nothing at all wrong with the cargraphic, but with the mods i have done since, my setup called for a more free flowing and bigger exhaust, at least thats what i was told, I really appreciate all the feedback, regardless of the opinions, just appreciate all the honesty..Thanks 6speeders

 

i also forgot to tell you, i have a full setup for the cargraphic exhaust, i only put less than 3000 miles on it, I paid 4300, and sellin for like 2000. If your interested then let me know....

VEGAS BAIL, I will speak with the V.P. Jay regarding the current status of the exhaust system for your 996 Turbo. I talk to Kelly @ Vegas Auto Salon on a daily basis regarding another customer's vehicle and also keep tabs with the process on your Turbo. It's been a situation from the get-go because you wanted a particular sound for your Turbo and we have been trying to accommodate to fulfill your sound preference. We went over and above our customary policy when we sent you the catbypass pipes to substitute for the sportcats which were too quiet for your taste. All products have to be paid in full when leaving our facility, Jay and I wanted to help you with your Porsche so we sent those out "on us" to assist in your decision. Now I am not aware of any refunds or charges regarding this situation, but I can say the 996 Turbo 70mm catbypass pipes are $1,075, and the sportcats retail for $1,595. A used set of sportcats will just sit on our shelf because we cannot use them for installations but Jay obviously put a $1,300 value on them, which leaves you with a $200 refund--hence we will discount the next order. Again I have been dealing with Kelly regarding Dom's Ferrari, and Jay has been dealing with Kelly regarding your Porsche, but from talking to Kelly the sound from your Porsche is now aggressive enough for your sound preference.

What about the three weeks of ME waiting for a return call, and if you really want to get into things, Doms FERRARI has been going through some issues with you also.... If he was to get on this forum i think there would be a major discussion on whats going on with his car.....

To be honest, the receipt just says cargraphic 100 cell, for the gt700, from evolution..

 

You heard the GMG, you liked the GMG, you bought something else? Does GMG not make that exhaust anymore?

 

nice point... at the time the GMG price was a little more than what i was gonna spend. After talking to fabspeed and explaining my preference, they said i would be very happy.

I just found out what type it is . Its the super sound-export version...

 

I understand that the sound is not aggressive enough..sound is very subjective and what is loud for me can be quiet to you, and vice versa. I see both extremes from a customer with a Ver.2 "quiet" with sport cats complain about drone and then you can have a customer with catbypass and muffler bypass say it's still not loud enough. It's hard for us to judge exactly what the customer wants in respect to sound, but I know that from the beginning Kelly said you were very keen on the GMG GT2 sound. Dom's Ferrari has other issues that we are dealing with regarding a product that we offer from another company, but he is very happy with the headers/sportcats/carbon airboxes and BMC filters he purchased from us. We just developed an X-Pipe muffler bypass for the 2010 997.2 Turbo which has an incredible tone compared to the Maxflo mufflers---watch this video and tell me if the X-Pipe sounds similar to the GMG GT2 setup. At about 4:20, I have a comparison between the stock, Maxflo, and X-Pipe sound.
