New mods... EVOMS inlet pipes, GT2 slave conversion, Sachs "752" clutch/PP
SubscribeFinally got the work done I've been anxiously waiting to do for awhile. Since the clutch, slave/accumulator, and inlet pipes are all pretty much right there and easily accessible with the trans removed, we did this all at once to save on overlapping labor.
Thanks to John @ SpeedTech for the inlet pipes and the support during installing. As usual, nothing bolt-on is ever truly bolt-on.
And thanks to EVOMS for drastically cutting the price of these inlet pipes right before I was ready to buy. Perfect timing guys.
Thanks to Don (dgreen78) for the custom machined slave bracket he made for me. I got the remaining slave delete parts from Pelican.
And the unused Sachs "752" PP and disc were purchased from Greg (x50plt) and supported and originally purchased from Todd K @ Protomotive. It is conservatively rated at 600-650whp and aggressively rated at up to 700whp by Todd, so I feel pretty good for awhile. Thanks to both of you.
This was shortly after adding 18" OZ Alleggerita wheels and Nitto NT01 R-compounds. Went back to 18s after riding on 19s for over a year. I added 10mm spacers in the rear to me the clearance I needed for the hard IC piping I had S-Car-Go do recently as well.
Thanks to Damon @ Tire Rack for the wheels and Dez (heavychevy) for the barely used tires at a good price.
Thanks to Dennis (Prche951) for the spacers he shipped me to try out before having to commit to buying them (they ended up being too small). And Thanks to Enrique (F1crazydriver) for letting me try out his various spacer sizes and longer lug bolts as well.
I have about 350 miles on the new clutch so far and am babying it until 600 miles per Todd K's recommendation. I can say the GT2 slave is my favorite mod so far. I daily drive this car on the freeway and thru the streets and hills of San Francisco and even with the added pedal effort required to depress, the modulation and linear feedback is such a joy to drive with. I simply love it. Quick starts from a stop are a breeze now to get going too.
I'm anxious to really throttle it up here soon - probably next week sometime! Here's a few pics.

Thanks Mike. And just for you, I will get a real 60-130 done for you at some point. Originally Posted by ttboost

I think you'd get into the 10s just with the slave mod - it's that easy to take off and get going now.

Yeah, I bought the bracket too and priced everything out at around $400 or so. I think I would have to consider axles before I hung it out for 10's...but you never know...Originally Posted by flash68

yeah for $400 it's a no brainer I think when you do a clutch. Originally Posted by ttboost

How does it drive and sound???
Thanks Mike. You can hear the intake pipes make some noise now, but I haven't even given it full throttle yet and only seen like .8 bar for a half second or so, so not meth injection yet either. Can't wait to open it up and see how it goes. It sure feels like it's ready to rip! Originally Posted by MBailey

Dave,
Congrats on the new mods! It sounds like you're in good shape now with what you have done.

yeah it's kinda gross how restrictive and mangled the stock inlet pipes are. Originally Posted by 2muchtime

Is there any chance that you have the partsnumbers of all parts that are needed for the GT2 slave conversion?
Thanks
