Does disconnecting battery erase a FLASH?

I have an FVD flash on my 01 TT. While doing some work on the car, I had the battery disconnected for 24 hours or so. After reconnecting and then going for a drive, the car felt sluggish when accelerating. It seemed to be less responsive, built up boost slower. The internal boost gauge was still boosting to 1.0bar but it just felt flat.

Would disconnecting battery for 24 hours have caused a reset in some way?

Thanks.

K

No, disconecting your battery won't erase your FVD flash

Disconnecting the battery would only reset your ECU; the ECU would start learning from scratch... that's why your car was sluggish. It should be back to normal after a few drives.

I was trying a new exhaust. Only thing I woild have touched were the O2 sensors and I was super careful when handling these. I'm hoping the "couple of drives" will make things right. Is this relearn time based, miles based or cycles on/off?K

I'm not sure but I think it is cycles on/off.

It happened to me at least a dozen times...dead battery and jump start....

One or two drives and it will be working fine. Be confident.
