A brand called "CRC". make sure it doesn't leave a residue.

carb or choke cleaner is NOT GOOD. They have petroleum products and leave a residue.

You should be able to get 'residue free' electronics cleaners - it doesn't need to be a "MAF CLeaner"... most electronics stores (radio shack, tandy? in UK??, etc) have this.

Just go to Radio Shack and buy some electronics spray cleaner. It's the same stuff but for half the price of the stuff branded as "MAF Cleaner."

I worked at Radio Shack a long time ago and the electornics cleaner should work just fine on MAF.

Sounds like you figured out the method, which is just to spray it good, make sure any crap comes out, and let it dry!

Just a note that in Canada, it seems to be called CRC SensorKleen (part of the label has big letters that says "MAF Cleanter"). I bought mine at Lordco. Retail price about $12-13 CDN a can but the young lady at the checkout gave me a discount to something like $6

Squeeze connector and unplug it and remove the 2 tamper-proof torx screws. MAF is under the left side (looking at motor) intercooler hose in the airbox on the way to the plenum.
