OK, you have a broken tab in your door. It was made of flimsy cast aluminum.

The fix is in this thread...
Door Part Failure

Getting the door open to be able to do the work is another issue. You'll probably have to get a towing company to come and break in. They can usually do it in a few seconds.

I have a buddy with a tow truck company so I'll have him come over and get the car open. Thanks for your help and I'll post as soon as I get the door taken apart.

I reconnected the battery and the key fob is working, will lock, unlock the doors and frunk. I tried to open the door manually with the key but nothing happens. I wonder if there could be a blown fuse that controls the door lock before I take the door apart??

I posted on the other site but neither door opening with key leads me to believe it has something to do with alarm. SLider I checked out your fix and was impressed= nice work.

This is so annoying! My friend had this happen to him a while back and local Porsche Service did not really know what caused it, this season this happened to my Turbo as well!

I cannot lock/unlock with a fob, have to unlock it with a key in door, jump in before alarm goes off and put a key into ignition. What is worse it only opens drivers door so my lady has to wait a bit till I am in, put the key into igntion and then pull the inside handle of her door.

This happens to me only after the car has sat long enough for the electronics to "sleep". Does this happen to you always? What are you doing to set the alarm, one press or multiple when locking?

a "double click" of the fob puts the car to sleep instantly as the interior i/r sensor is de-activated. or so i am told. better to put the sucker to sleep nightly!

There is no electronics involved at all - that is what the door lock is for - to get you in the car with no power. See my earlier post - your aluminum connector is toast - no question.

These fobs have a built in "security" feature... If you activate the unlock while away from the car for 256 activations (30 seconds of sitting on your key), your fob is disabled until you unlock the car with the key and put it in the ignition. If activated 1024 times, the fob is toast and no one will get that sucker working again - ever.

Just a note on my experience with my key fob not unlocking the door or opening the trunk/bonnet. There is a fuse in the security module under the drivers seat that will pop if your key fob starts to malfunction (my key fob internals were starting to have micro cracks from repeated use that started affecting the key fobs ability to transmit). If memory serves me correctly, it's a 15 amp micro-fuse. You need to remove the driver's seat to get to the security module and check to see if the fuse popped. I hope this helps.

- perfect example of sitting on key in pocket for < 1024 activations. Good work!

Need help... Just got my 2011 ctt, i live in montana so no dealers here.

Key lokcs/unlocks 50% of the time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. I replaced the battery, did not solve the issue. I have no keyless entry option.

Can you please help with an advice? This really sucks. I cant pin point why it works sometimes and others it doesnt. I turned off my blutooth on the phone, disconnected my radar detector. Nothing helps. Ill try autozone's key tester, but its hard to catch when it doesnt work.

You're asking the 996 forum...not sure if the system is the same as your 2011.
