Unhappy Another sports star crashes in his Ferrari Spyder

It amaze's me how many of these guys get a huge contract at a young age, Go out and buy a supercar, and crash it. I am willing to say that most of them have little or no experience at driving fast cars. It seems to be happening alot more these days.

"Thrashers forward Dany Heatley, MVP of the 2003 All-Star Game and one of the NHL's rising young stars, and teammate Dan Snyder were seriously injured in a one-car accident on Lenox Road in Buckhead late Monday night".

Driving 80+ mph on a suburban neighborhood street is stupid!!! regardless of driving experience which clearly this driver had very little of given his young age. Such a waste...It's one thing if he hurts himself, but sounds like the passenger will be damaged one way or another for life, if he ends up surviving. What a pity...: -(

P.S. Stories like this can benefit us all by reminding us to think and reconsider consequences prior to deciding to take risk's on public highways...Okay, that's enough preaching....

I don't think it's any different than some other person who makes or happens upon a lot of money, purchases a super car, and does the same thing. We only hear/read about it more when it happens to celebrities.

except celebrities generally have more of a sense of invincibility. Also celebrities, namely athletes are usually very overly confident in their skills eventhough they may not have any. Lastly celebrities/athletes are generally dumber than people who have earned that much money through other channels.

There are a lot of guys younger than that on this board driving very expensive fast modded bench racing cars with very little or no track experience . At least this hockey player bought the car with his own earnings and not his da-da's, right Shawn ?

Whats the difference who buys someones car? As everyone knows I am 17 and my dad bought my car, this doesn't make he or I a bad person. This also does not mean I do not deserve the car. This comment is kinda stupid man, I can understand how you would make it, but I consider myself an exception to the rule. I used to go kart race for 3 years, and I have been to a driving school. Its not a matter of how old you are, or who bought your car, but how you drive your car. I know my limits, and know that everyone on here has more driving experience then me. Sorry to rant and rave (again) but I really get offended by comments made like this..
Regards,
Evan
BTW-I will not respond to any comments, as I don't want this thread to turn into an argument like the other....

Unless a life saving bodily organ was donated, I can rarely see where a $100,000 sports car as a gift can be "deserved". Earning is deserving.

I made my comment only as a sharp retort to the topic of this post whose originator didn't see the irony in his condemnation , esp on this brake rotor hat as latest jewelry board. By the way Mansour, I have two nieces who have significant contacts in chem E if you really want a job.

WTF are you talking about? Do you read your posts before you hit the submit button? Chem E? "Brake Rotor Hat"?

MKW, I do not have to justify myself to you or anybody. What makes you think I didn't pay for the car myself??? You dont know me! I Owned my own business here in FLA that I sold for a profit, Not that its any of your business. I also purchased my own Suzuki Sidekick working for a demolition company in Toronto canada, I was far from spoiled and didn't get an allowance.. LOL I was Digging 8x8x10 ft deep holes for indoor cranes to be mounted in with my bare hands and shovel. I mow my own lawn, do plumbing and light electrial work. Again, Not that its any of your business. I have earned my keep Sharp Retort Master. And, I am very umimpressed with your pathetic attept to get a rise out of me. Couldn't we go back and fourth with "yo momma" jokes instead?
ROFLOL!

Come on man, what kind of statement is that? Sure plenty of athletes are morons, but, it is not because they are athletes, it is because they were already morons and just happened to be athletes. IMO, there is no place nor need for that kind of prejudice here.

AMG ETR & MSINDI, i've been around the net for some time and have heard the same comments you hear now, all I can say is just brush it off and don't let it get to you. There will always be someone who disaproves of how you run your things and how things are dropped upon you. If it's a gift they'll tell you you don't deserve it, if you made the money yourself they'll tell you you are overpaid. It'll never end, there will always be someone out there who doesn't approve.
