Bryant's car is about he same but with the GT3 heads.Bryant's car has a custom billet crank whereas my car has a GT3 RS crank.
That's about the sum total of the differences........well except that my car makes about 20 0r 30 more hp.......and ya know its driving him crazy!!

joe,

Unless that custom billet crank is a stroker, it really isn't going to make any real difference power wise. If it is lighten to any extent it may have a slightly better response. As for the heads. I have seen your heads, with the porting work done, your heads are equal or better than GT3 ports/valves.

Now the difference that could come in, and it doesn't appear to have made any difference is the GT3 cam holders. Sloss's motor if he in fact has GT3 heads would also have GT3 cam holders. The GT3 cam holders can accomodate far more radical cams that the 996tt cam holders are capable of (even if you machine them out).

Is Sloss's motor making use of the GT3 cam tower/holder capabilities? Do you know the differences, if any, to the cam profiles? I can assure you there is about 60 hp more available with GT3 cam towers and the related larger cam profiles when they are put to use.

Chad,
Yes he has GT3 heads(the ones that came off my car)but I am not sure on the cam towers because they were modified to use variocam. The cams are the same.

Joe,

I learned something new! I have not seen the GT3 heads used with 996tt cam towers. We choose the GT3 heads on our project because the GT3 cam towers allow for a much higher lift cam. Then again, we also did away with the variocams.

It is amazing all the different configurations now being used.

Buddy-- I have an idea for you--- I was trying to follow what mods equalled what known results.Earlier on this page you asked Joe the relevent question about mods to achieve-- Is it possible to put the links of mod threads to on page 1 of this thread --next to or under the figures?
It would save a lot of time trying to find relevent stories for comparison(the threads are long enough ).
As another suggestion to those with stories-- why not do update to first post of the actual mods to date. Same reason--it would provide easy access summary.
It would save the guys with stories from answering the same questions over and over also.
Hope somebody else thinks it is a good idea!!
tia
