GT2 Front Bumper Conversion

I've seen conflicting information on what is needed for the proper setup to change from the stock 996 TT bumper to the GT2. Can anybody point me to a thread or give me a quick run down on exactly whats needed to do the job?

OEM or replica bumper too?

Thanks guys!

Go with the MA Shaw GT2 nose and save your money! I love mine and it looks great with a little work.

yea the aftermarket stuff is decent. but even on the best FRP composite stuff - branded or replica, the fit is 85-95% at best and the various ducts, covers, etc... never really align/seal right. And like earlier mentioned, you can tell when standing close up. just the innaccurate nature of the material.

OEM plastic based bumpers are more durable, especially relevant on cars that unavoidably/habitually encounter clearance issues. if ever need to remove or adjust, stress fractures/tight squeezes lead to paint scratches etc... just too bad the OEM stuff cost so much!

in order to do the conversion with oem GT2 nose you have to change radiator mountings. Once you have made the conversion, going back to stock is a pita. With Aftermarket it is a simple remove versus install. And working fiberglass is easy to make it fit.

To do the full OEM conversion there are about 20 water lines and about 44 total part numbers, not including hose clamps, fasteners, and small bits. I have the list over on renntrack, as I'm in the middle of doing it right now. This is a much more involved process unless you do the Sharkwerx or Titan Motorsports option of cutting the lines. Regardless the way you choose to go, OEM fitment and function are the most important to me. Why have that cool opening in front of the hood if it isn't functional?
