Standard Z8s only came in manual trans. From January 2003-May 2003 BMW built 555 Alpina Z8's for the world. If the side mirrors were body color instead of chrome, said Alpina on the back and had 20" alpina rims then it was an automatic Alpina Z8. Chances are it was a manual.

sure looks real to me..... unless it was some type of training simulator.
