The ultimate compliment

Getting into my TT at the mall earlier tonight when a shiny silver AMG E63 pulls up aside me. Looks like a nice guy, i tell him 'beautiful car, any chance you want to take it to the drag strip sometime?'

He says, 'No way - i wouldnt have a chance against you'

'By the way' he says, 'your car is amazing. I also have an Audi R8 at home, but i'd still rather have on of those'.

I said 'Are you kidding, an R8 and an E63 and you would rather have this?'

He says 'You dont realize what you have there - nothing drives like a 911 Turbo.'

Man I felt good. I still want to race that E63, though.

The E63 you'd probably take. Be careful with an E55. They're very easily modified and quick as heck. I love mine

Check what OP has. His FVD stage4 should has no problem to handle mod E55.

There are plenty of high HP E55's running around. 600rwhp is not unheard of in those cars.

Now THAT's a pleasant conversation with another enthusiast. I treasure those... I'm tired of the other ones (that aren't so pleasant).

Yeah, I was surprised how he gushed over my car. Usually with a garage like that these fellas are high and mighty, would sooner fart exhaust all over your dockers than pay you a compliment. Im still amazed at that conversation.

GT640 is infamous around these parts
I live in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Typical sightings are 599GTB's, Astons and Gallardos. There are as many 2010 AMG's as Toyota Prieau. Every day I see something spectacular like a gullwing Benz or an Alfa 8C. No one makes eye contact with me in my 01' 996TT. It is clearly modified, but very tasteful. The only time anyone engages with me about the car, it's to tell me how they would never mess with me.

It makes driving the Insight and Odyssey around daily a lot more bearable when you know you have the King in the garage.

So far, the best compliments have been from Patrick Dempsey in his GT3RS and a bus driver hanging out of his window taking pictures of it. He said he'd been driving a metro bus in LA for 14 years!

If the guy has an R8 at home, he obviously could own even a 997TT but chose differently. I agree that those are some top shelf compliments given!

Agreed!, I hate it when everyone around me doesn't realize how correct I am all the time!
