Final week, GT2 style full carbon wing group buy...

This might have gotten lost in the shuffle, but we'll close this out on Friday, so if anyone else still has interest, please email me this week!

As many of you know, we have introduced some very interesting carbon fiber parts to our lineup over the past few months. These first-class quality pieces are exact factory-matched to the grain, color and appearance of the factory pieces you may have.

We are introducing a very new product now for the 996 Turbo. This wing blade weighs just over six pounds, and is available as carbon fiber, or in primed form (we will factory-match/paint it, as we do with all our other parts, if desired).

This is a labor-intensive piece of art, and is stunning in person. It is not a carbon fabric wrapped piece of plastic - it is full carbon fiber!

If we can put together a group buy opportunity here on 6speed, we can offer these at a savings to everyone. Typical retail pricing is in the $2400 range, but we intend to offer this to the 6speed community at a significantly reduced price on this group buy.

If you are interested, please email me at eric@bumperplugs.com, include your model/year/color, and your 6speed name, and if you are interested in this wing in Carbon Fiber or in painted finish, and we'll work on pricing once we have the group done. If you already responded, thank you - you are already on the list, final pricing after this Friday (Jan 28).

Thanks!

Eric,

Can this be in any way configured for a C4S?

It's only the wing (like it says in the thread topic), not the decklid.

Yes...it is the top blade, and replaces the existing top blade using the special Porsche tool. It fits onto the risers of the existing decklid, very easy installation.

As for a C4S, the decklid would have to be changed to the turbo decklid, and I am uncertain of that fitment. Anyone try this on a C4S yet (putting a turbo decklid and wing on it?).

The original TT decklid doesn't fit on a C4S (mainly because of the air filterbox and its air intake adapter in the decklid). There are some aftermarket TT decklids for the C4S available though. But they don't have the automatic hydraulic wing lift (because the hydraulic doesn't fit under the decklid... again, mainly because of the filterbox).

Everyone who responded, watch your email for news tomorrow or Saturday. Final day of group buy will be Friday, then we will let you know all details on pricing and timing.

If you have not yet responded, and are interested in the wing in pure CF (painted or in carbon finish) just email me: eric@bumperplugs.com

Thanks!

Eric, I believe that the C4S and the regular 996 have different decklids, but share the same retractable unit. Hence, it should also fit a C4S.

I am curious...do most people like the carbon fibre look for the wing, or painted?

My first instinct would be to paint it, but do most folks think that would be nuts? Keep in mind this is a yellow car.

PS What is the weigth of the stock wing? And can someone describe what is involved to install the thing? Can I do it myself (special Porsche tool?)? TIA

Thats a great wing. Good luck with the sale. Are you planning to design any CF wings for the new 997. Thanks.
