Funny thing happen on the way to the....
Wardhog, No, the car is awesome. Just correcting a common misconception about brakes.
Rich, not in one or two stops as the data I showed in the earlier threads showes. On the track or insanse street driving, sure, but definitely not during break in. And further, the proper test can simply look at -long g's, not times. Too much error in the stopwatch method.
Now, back to congratulations on an awesome car.

As I had been comtemplating this car for about 2 months with a thought of ordering it to buid (w/ a European delivery twist) for '06, things suddenly changed.
RUMOR (this forum and others) and FACT (this forum and others) would have it that through a series of events "05 CGT's may be the last, and as of this past Saturday allotments were difficult, if not impossible to come by (barring E-bay and the so-called "hook-up").
Decisions needed to be made and despite having my 2 1/2 y.o. son with me action needed to be taken. After a brief conversation with my loving wife I traded in my '04 996 TT X50 (Basalt Blk, full carbon, aero kit) for this awesome F1 racer. Took a small hit of course on value, but was left whole after the usual hardball tactics (mind you I've bought 2 911's and a Cayenne from these guys). Fortunately I won't take a personal hit or burden with this purchase as my company will purchase the vehicle, pay registration and insurance in total. I mention this solely because the ongoing discussion on this and other boards is the issue of depreciation, speculation, relative worth (to other exotics), etc., etc., etc.
As for the car itself, it's simply an engineering wonder, allowing mere mortals to experience F1 style driving with the masses. Words can't describe it. Think Disney at age 5 or 6, pure fantasy
It is truly a phenomenal experience. In personal reference and experience I've owned an M3, M5 w/ full Dinan pkg, 996 C4, not to mention my departed TT. Additionally "fit and finish" & aesthetics are second to none. The glaring looks and chit chat with strangers at stop lights and parked affirms this ad nausem.
Also note the brakes are "staggering"!!!!! As in awesome and not the miscontrued comparison of the CGT brakes to contact patches and other cars with a multitude of variable factors to affect the braking experience. Planly said, the brakes are staggering.
Yes I plan on driving it regulary as I did the TT (11,000 mi in 11 months). I also drove my Cayenne 16,000 mi during the same time period,...obviously my occupation calls for extensive pleasurable drives.
I know I'm obligated to "send pics", which I will do ASAP after borrowing my wife's digital camera. She's a plastic surgeon who's pretty attached to her toys.
Thanks everyone for the words of wisdom re the CGT as well as the TT

don't mind tim. while you and i are "experiencing" the "staggering" brakes, he is busy playing magazine brake expert w/out any butt time to back up his incessant need to negate the experience of doers.
just a fwiw since you're using it as a daily driver. tires are readily available at tire rack for not much more than the TTs. however, take care of the windshield with regards to trying to avoid rock chips since replacement is "rumored" to be $9k.
btw, great color choice :-)
Thanks everyone for the kind words.
Will consider the Jacksonville invite and advise. Any additional contact info?
Thnx on the info re the tires and windshield replacement cost (ouch). Must admit, driving the car I feel like I'm in the "Matrix"; if only I could dodge the elements, there coming too fast
Still "staggered" and loving it.
Will post pics soon

congrats also, It would be a dream come true to own a CGT but realistically where I live, I would be so afraid to drive it around in fear of vandalism , the car would stick out like a major sore thumb!! Even my TT is a rare item around here. I guess Atlanta is more suitable to be in that kinda of a car. My wife and I are also a physician team with 2 young kids. My kids LOVE riding in the TT with the rush of acceleration- guess it's kinda like a roller coaster ride to them. I can't imagine what they would feel in your car. Be careful and enjoy!!! Ted
It would be a dream to own one, and in my case, even drive one.
Many congrats.
There is one sitting at my dealer and I was not allowed to sit in it. I was allowed to look at it. This may be as close as I will get.
Best of luck.
