Looks like it's normal enough... and the point was brought up above that hopefully it's engineered to be strong enough to make it to the first req'd rebuild anyway (probably around 200 - 250K miles if lucky and driven/maintained well)

I guess we're all a bunch of guinea pigs right now :-)

Ha! I don't like taking my wife in the porsche... she's a "sprawler" and too fidgety. Even she agrees.

Used to drive me crazy in the M3 (previous car) when she'd put her feet on the dash, spill purse contents everywhere, etc.

Are you guys sure you're not mistaking the timing chain rattle at idle for IMS? These cars have a stout metal timing chain that does make a rattling sound at idle.
