Winter Rubber

I'm sure this topic has been tossed around a million times, but I'd appreciate any advice/experiences with winter tires/wheels. I understand that Tire Rack might be the place to look.

I'm driving my car far more this winter - I can see the great potential in the snow but the P zeros aren't delivering it right now.

Thanks guys!

Dave

Yikes! Don't do it, don't even think about it. You can buy heavy knock off's from the 'Rack and snow tires but then you have heavy wheels, skinny poor handling snow tires and you've turned your beautiful car in a very expensive snow pusher. Any build up of snow will scrape (or worse!) that front spoiler. Your car won't be as fun to drive the majority of days it doesn't snow, and push snow in a storm. You see all the people who freak out and slide all over the place in a snow storm? Do you want to be next to them in your TT?
The car's great in very light snow. Please drive something else when it turns nasty.

Pirelli makes the 240 winter sport, I have them on mine now, awsome traction in the snow. I drive mine nearly everyday, these cars are meant to be driven. Besides, my wife drives the expedition.
You'll need a set of rims though, I got the tires from tire rack and the rims from highhline wheels, 1500$ total. TR also sells the rims, they were backordered when I needed them, I would recommend buying the mounted set with spacers from TR if they are available, saves alot of hassle with spacers, which you'll need to clear the turbo brakes.
Go for it!
