big problem! need help..

Hey guys, Ive got an issue.. I dropped the engine down 3 inch's via the 2 studs/bolts under the car near the cats. For some reason I hand threaded the nuts back on when finishing up and one side went on fine but the other side's bolt got crossthreaded (i think this is the term) and now spins endlessly at the very tip of the bolt... I cant get the nut on for the life of me now.. What is the easiest way to fix this problem? If I need to re-thread or chase it ect.. does anyone know the size/thread depth??..

You definately need to re-thread. take the good nut with you to find the right pitch

The mount itself is really cheap. Only about $40.00 but the nut is 12 X1.5. Get yourself the right die and you will be able to fix it....

Not sure if you realize that that is a bolt? Have you tried putting a wrench on the topside and turning it from the bottom? The bolt head is right by the airbox on each side.

I might be wrong but check anyway. Motor mount bolt has partial square body that need to go straight to square hole. If you really mis-align it, it might catch the lip and won't go all the way flushed and you could not properly tight the nut. You have to drop motor and re-align it before you could tight properly.

Aroon, and anyone interested.

I purchased a full Dye and Tap Set from Sears in Metric. Used the Tap to rethread the nut and then used the mis-matched Dye to re-do the threading on the bolt. It didnt work at first but after a few attempts it was biting and shaving all of the crossed threads over.

It was a weird combo that didnt make sense to me but 11MM Tap
12MM x 1.75in or 1.50in Dye (Sorry didnt make note of the size)

Hope this helps future searchers
