tire decision help!!!

currently running michelin ps2 235/35/19 front and 305/30/19, i'm afraid of chewing up my differential although the car is only driven about 20 miles/week. Now should I get 2 Michelin ps2 for the rear with the correct spec(2 315/25/19= $1150) or just get a set of four Nitto Invo for less than a $1000 and sell my four michelin. Pls advice.

I just ordered up some 19" wheels and battled with the same decision you are dealing with now. I opted for the nitto. At a fraction of the cost and the correct available sizes. (F: 235 35 19 and R: 315 25 19) Seemed like it made sense. I have heard nothing but pretty positive feedback from different dealers regarding the Nitto and again the price just cant be beat. Im getting my new wheels and tires tomorrow and I will post pictures asap. Good luck.

I noticed there's to different kind
235/35zr-19 91Y XL B
235/35zr-19 91W XL B this one cost 14 dollars more
so which one did you get the one with 91Y or 91W?

Michelin PS2 sizes
235/35/19 = 25.5
305/30/19 = 26.3 .8 Diff.

245/35/19 = 25.8
305/30/19 = 26.3 .5 Diff

235/35/19 = 25.5
315/25/19 = 25.2 .3 Diff

Is 1/2 in. height that critical ? Will the 245/35/19 fit without rubbing they are $375.00 each.

There is a lot of opinion on this question. I did a lot of research on this before I pulled the trigger. I think a half inch is getting to be too much..again based on the answers I was getting from everyone who I spoke with who were not just trying to sell me something. The other thing I heard about was going with a set up that is an inch over the factory 18" overall height would throw on warning lights for traction control and such. Who knows..

Most people seem to think the correct answer is the 315 25 / 235 35 set up which is very close in both overall diameter to the factory 18" and front to rear difference..especially on the Nitto which is 25.47" Front and 25.3" rear.

i tried to look at the rev per mile ratio to be as close as possible as adviced by many in the forum
235/35= 817 rev per mile
245/35=807

305/30=788
315/25=824

look it up? it has been discussed so many times thats why i'm worried. Because if you chew up your differential the repair is very costly.

That is a good looking tire. I just worry under hard acceleration and 140MPH.

exactly. i had Invos before, and now I have PS2s. my car is RWD and 500+ rwhp, with PS2s in warm weather there is no wheel spin in 1st gear.

guys,
Does the .5" difference matter as much if the car is a GT2? (only RWD so no front differential?).
the rear stock tire on a GT2 is 315/30/18 so for 19" the closest is a 315/25/19.
Any other options in size for the rear tire? downsizing to 305/30/19 is not an option and according to the tire calc I was using, switching to 325/30/19 (997 GT2 size) will have a difference of 1.3 inch in diameter.
What will the downside of using that tire be, other than a speedo that is off? (slower by 4.9%)
