996TT Headers

Looking at putting stainless performance headers on my car.
It is a the moment standard but looking to get around 550ish bhp.

Is it a worth while mod as i have heard mixed reviews on them.
Thanks
Tim

The stock headers are a very good design and are fine at 550 hp.

You will only see a benefit at approximately 650whp and up, and then they only help spool and about 5% across the powerband.

Our billet K16's will make 700bhp on 93 octane pump fuel (98 RON), with the correct supporting modifications, as well as spool faster than stock.

550bhp is a cakewalk. I sent you a PM.

I bet Neil likes the Switzer ones . . .

You won't go wrong with switzer, markski, evoms, ect.

I would only do headers to go with external wastegates personally.

With headers there is compromises to be made, ie. smaller primary tubes allow quick spool but do not flow enough for high rpm, high cfm engines, and larger primaries are exactly the opposite. A lot of them on the market today are 2" or larger, and unless you are making 1000hp or more, there is much to be gained with a different design.

We use our standard headers, pictured below, on all of our packages 650hp and above, even the 1100hp Sledgehammer uses these, only adapted for external gates.

If you have any questions feel free to call me or shoot me an email.

They are fine with over 1000hp. Ask Diveextreme.

IIRC, Scott's headers are stock, but they are also ported, which does help quite a bit.
